Texave International helps food importers and manufacturers develop, review and implement Preventive Control Plans tailored to their products, suppliers and operations. Our PCP consulting services support applicable Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) requirements for businesses in Ontario, British Columbia and across Canada.
Whether you are preparing your first plan, adding products or updating existing documentation, we help turn your food safety responsibilities into clear procedures and usable records.

We review your business activities, product information and existing controls to define the scope of the plan. Our support includes hazard analysis, preventive control procedures, monitoring, verification, corrective actions and supporting records, as applicable to your operation.
If you already have a plan, we assess how well it reflects your current business. We identify gaps, outdated instructions and missing supporting evidence, then agree on the revisions needed. A new document is not always necessary.
For businesses importing food into Canada, we help review product hazards, foreign supplier information and the evidence supporting supplier controls. We assist with supplier assessment procedures, receiving checks, complaint handling and relevant traceability and recall arrangements.
Your team needs to understand how to apply the plan. We help explain responsibilities, organise monitoring and verification records, and identify how corrective actions will be documented. The agreed scope can include implementation guidance and follow-up review.
A PCP is a written plan that explains how a food business identifies and controls food safety hazards and addresses applicable consumer protection requirements. It should reflect the actual foods and activities of the business and be supported by evidence that its procedures are being followed.
We define the deliverables around your products, activities and applicable requirements. Depending on the engagement, support can include:
· Product descriptions, intended use and relevant process information.
· Assessment of biological, chemical, physical and allergen hazards.
· Preventive controls, with critical control points and limits where applicable.
· Monitoring, corrective action and verification procedures.
· Relevant sanitation, hygiene, storage and supplier control procedures.
· Supporting complaint handling, traceability and recall procedures.
· Review of applicable labelling and other consumer protection requirements.
· Practical forms, responsibilities and guidance for maintaining records.
We support food importers, manufacturers, processors and growing brands that need help with a new or existing PCP. For exporters and other operations, we first assess which obligations apply to the foods and activities involved. Services are scoped to your business, including projects in British Columbia and Ontario.
Tell us about your products, suppliers, business activities, existing plan and any inspection correspondence or deadlines.
We review the available information and agree on the required work, deliverables, fees and expected schedule.
We develop or update the documentation with your team, identifying any information or evidence still needed.
We explain the procedures and records and agree on any follow-up review included in the engagement.

No. Written PCP requirements depend on the food, activity and applicable exceptions. An exemption from a written plan does not automatically remove other obligations. We help assess the requirements relevant to your operation using current CFIA guidance.
CFIA does not approve PCPs. Inspectors verify whether the required plan is complete, implemented and effective. Texave supports preparation and review; responsibility for operating and maintaining the system remains with the food business.
Yes. We can assess the plan against your current products, suppliers, processes and available records, then recommend targeted updates or more extensive work where needed.
They share hazard analysis and preventive control principles, but an existing HACCP plan should be checked against applicable SFCR requirements. Additional information or procedures may be needed, including relevant consumer protection provisions.
The scope depends on your product range, operations, supplier information, existing documentation and implementation needs. Share these details with us so we can provide a quotation and expected schedule. If you have a deadline, include it in your enquiry.
